One of These Days...

I'll update my blog...eventually. Life is so hectic now with school and work...but I am surviving...and I'll finally be able to catch my breath within the next week or two.
So until then...I've got nothing

Royal Wedding

Oh, 'ello gov'na!

It's been a while since I've written, I've been very preoccupied- school, work, THE ROYAL WEDDING.

Man, I've been so addicted to the wedding buzz going on. Now I know what women my age must have felt like during the time of Charles and Diana.

But, I mean, how could you NOT be completely enamored with a couple as good looking and completely in love as William and Kate?!

Look at the way they look at each other...I'm sure body language experts would agree...they really are in love. You know it's got to be true when you've been with someone for 8 years and have had your fair share of ups and downs- breakups and makeups and you decide that they are the one you want to be with for the rest of your life.

Despite all the pomp and circustance around the wedding, when you get right down to it, they are just two people in love, wanting to make a life-long committment to each other in front of family and friends...and well, the world.

It makes me wonder, with just a few hours to go until they say "I Do" are they experiencing the normal excitment and jitters that us "commoners" experience before we walk down the aisle?

As silly as it may seem, seeing these two people so in love and about to take a huge step forward in their relationship, brings back the emotions and memories of my wedding day; the day I truly felt like a princess.

Friday, I'm In Love: OPI

One of my favorite little obsessions in life is OPI nail polish! I just love this stuff! I love all the colors and their catchy names. Plus I feel like it's a high quality polish and lasts a little longer than some of the drug store brands.

Recently they came out with their new Texas line, and oh, I am in love. You can check out all the new colors in the Texas collection at the OPI website.

One of my favorites from the collection, is Houston, We Have a Purple, which is now one of my top favorite colors!

My other favorite colors are:
Let Me Entertain You
Chocolate Shake-speare
I'm Not Really A Waitress

A Constant Reminder

Phil is leaving for work-ups soon. In the Navy, work-ups or underways as some people call them are essentially when a ship (and in Phil's case the air det.) go out to sea for a few weeks and get all the qualifications necessary to go on deployment. I am sure there is more to it than just that, but that's the easiest way I can explain it. He's not going to be gone very long, but it's just a reminder that deployment is getting nearer. I am not looking forward to this deployment. The last deployment, it didn't seem to phase me nearly as much. I am not sure if it's that this deployment will be longer, or that it seems like he just got back (October wasn't that long ago), but this deployment is making me so much more emotional, I just feel like I won't be as strong during this one. I know we will make it through and that he won't be gone forever, maybe it's just that with school and working full time, I don't feel like I get to spend that much time with him while giving him my undivided attention. Luckily, by the time he gets back, I'll be out of school and will have nothing to focus on but him!

Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

Ugh. I hate it when you have to find a new hair stylists. Seriously, that's probably one of my top 5 things I hate about being a military wife. Finding a new stylist for me is harder/worse than finding a new doctor or dentist. It's so hard for me to trust someone who can dramatically alter the way I look, for better or, in my most recent case worse. Maybe I didn't communicate what I wanted well enough, but I thought we were on the same page, but boy, we were chapters apart. All I wanted was a few strands of red (a very subtle almost browny red), mixed into my hair, ala this:

Instead I got two huge chunks of very red. It was baaaaad. I asked for a fix and the stylist tried to bleach it out...apparently fresh red will bleach out to...ORANGE! The stylist could see I was not happy and suggested I give it a week or so and come back for a better fix. I did not make an appointment, but got to my car and started bawling. I called my husband bawling and he helped me find another salon in the area that used the same color line and told me he would pay for whatever it took to make my hair look normal. Awww.

Anyways, even after several attempts, the new stylist couldn't get to be 100% perfect, but it's definitely 100% better. While my hair may be a disaster, I'm lucky to have found a new stylist out of all of this!

Friday I'm In Love: Shoes

I was lucky enough to get some moola and giftcards from various family members for my birthday. Birthday money tends to burn a hole in my pocket, so naturally, only 3 days later, I am thinking about what I want to buy myself! SHOES!

Happiest Birthday Yet!

My 25th birthday was yesterday and golly, I am one lucky gal! I got EVERYTHING on my birthday wish-list this year:

But the best present I received this year? A JOB OFFER! Yes! Finally! I can leave my job that is bringing me down and work for a company where I already feel like I fit in! I will be doing Benefits and Payroll for a small local company that has a contract with the DoD to do security at various military bases in Hawaii. I am very excited about this opportunity as it means an increase in responsibilities for me, in an area of HR that I believe I am really strong at...not to mention a HUGE pay increase, which is always a bonus! I can't wait to start!
